August 28: Peace in the Valley
2 Kings chapter 25, Jeremiah chapters 39 and 52, 2 Chron. 36:17-21
Jeremiah 39:9-10
Amplified Bible (AMP)
9 Then Nebuzaradan the [chief executioner and] captain of the guard carried away captive to Babylon the rest of the people who remained in the city, along with those who deserted to him, and the remainder of the [so-called better class of] people who were left.
10 But Nebuzaradan the [Babylonian] captain of the guard left in the land of Judah some of the poor of the people who had nothing, giving them vineyards and fields at the same time.
Jeremiah 40:1-6
Amplified Bible (AMP)
40 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord after Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him bound in chains among all who were carried away captive from Jerusalem and Judah, who were taken as exiles to Babylon.
2 And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah and said to him, The Lord your God pronounced evil upon this place.
3 Now the Lord has brought it about and has done as He said: [It is] because you [of Judah] have sinned against the Lord and have not obeyed His voice, therefore this thing has come upon you.
4 Now, see, I am freeing you today [Jeremiah] from the chains upon your hands. If it seems good to you to come with me to Babylon, come, and I will keep an eye on you and look after you well. But if it seems bad to you to come with me to Babylon, then do not do it. Behold, all the land is before you; wherever it seems good, right, and convenient for you to go, go there.
5 While [Jeremiah] was hesitating, [the captain of the guard] said, Go back then to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right for you to go. So the captain of the guard gave him an allowance of food and a present and let him go.
6 Then Jeremiah went to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah and dwelt with him among the people who were left in the land.
The poorest people in the land were left behind and given vineyards and fields! The wealthy were brought low, and the poorest were lifted up. And Jeremiah was freed from his chains and allowed to join them! See, the Lord takes care of His own, even when everything around us is destroyed!
Are you in chains? Don't ever, ever, ever quit believing. Don't ever, ever, ever quit serving your Lord. I promise He will come through for you.

Psalm 27:14Amplified Bible (AMP)
14 Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.
"Lord, you keep bringing me back to the same prayer. Someone reading this today is at a very low point in her life. In fact, her whole life has been one low point after the other. Satan is feeding her lies as she watches the wicked people around her prosper. You have a word for her today.

Psalm 37:7
Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.
Help this dear child to take courage in her soul and just keep hanging on to You. It SHALL be done. Your word promises it. I worship You for You are Holy. Your word is Holy. Thy will be done. In Jesus precious name, the Name that's higher than any other, AMEN.
