April 8: Wilder worship!!! "And David danced before the Lord with all his might, clad in a linen ephod [a priest’s upper garment]."

2 Samuel 6:12-19, 1 Chron. chapters15, 16, Psalms 105, 96

1 Chronicles 15:11-16

Amplified Bible (AMP)
11 And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites—Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab,
12 And said to them, You are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, both you and your brethren, that you may bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel, to the place that I have prepared for it.
13 For because you bore it not [as God directed] at the first, the Lord our God broke forth upon us—because we did not seek Him in the way He ordained.
14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel.
15 The Levites carried the ark of God on their shoulders with the poles, as Moses commanded by the word of the Lord.
King David received answers as to why Uzzah was killed, and as a result, everything went as planned this time.

2 Samuel 6:12-15

Amplified Bible (AMP)
12 And it was told King David, The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the City of David with rejoicing;
13 And when those who bore the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling.
14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might, clad in a linen ephod [a priest’s upper garment].
15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

Psalm 96

The Message (MSG)
96 1-2 Sing God a brand-new song!
Earth and everyone in it, sing!
Sing to Godworship God!
2-3 Shout the news of his victory from sea to sea,
Take the news of his glory to the lost,
News of his wonders to one and all!
4-5 For God is great, and worth a thousand Hallelujahs.
His terrible beauty makes the gods look cheap;
Pagan gods are mere tatters and rags.
5-6 God made the heavens—
Royal splendor radiates from him,
A powerful beauty sets him apart.
Bravo, God, Bravo!
Everyone join in the great shout: Encore!
In awe before the beauty, in awe before the might.
8-9 Bring gifts and celebrate,
Bow before the beauty of God,
Then to your knees—everyone worship!
10 Get out the message—God Rules!
He put the world on a firm foundation;
He treats everyone fair and square.
11 Let’s hear it from Sky,
With Earth joining in,
And a huge round of applause from Sea.
12 Let Wilderness turn cartwheels,
Animals, come dance,
Put every tree of the forest in the choir—
13 An extravaganza before God as he comes,
As he comes to set everything right on earth,
Set everything right, treat everyone fair.

"Dear God, I'm ashamed to say I don't worship You with ALL my might as King David did. I really must make some changes in my worship style. I'm usually on keys or organ, but I want to praise You more and wilder than I have in the past. The next time I have the opportunity to give You some crazy praise, I want to take action! I'm not ashamed of You and I want everyone to know it! Please forgive me for not acting like King David! You deserve my wildest praise after what You've done for me and my dear family! You are worthy of my HIGHEST praise, Oh God! In Your precious name, the name of Jesus, AMEN."
