March 9: Fire!!!!!
Deuteronomy 33:1-5
Amplified Bible (AMP)
33 This is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the Israelites before his death.
2 He said, The Lord came from Sinai and beamed upon us from Seir; He flashed forth from Mount Paran, from among ten thousands of holy ones, a flaming fire, a law, at His right hand.
3 Yes, He loves [the tribes] His people; all those consecrated to Him are in Your hand. They followed in Your steps; they [accepted Your word and] received direction from You,
4 When Moses commanded us a law, as a possession for the assembly of Jacob.
5 [The Lord] was King in Jeshurun (Israel) when the heads of the people were gathered, all the tribes of Israel together.
"To all his precepts, warnings, and prophecies, Moses added a solemn blessing. He begins with a description of the glorious appearances of God, in giving the law. His law works like fire. If received, it is melting, warming, purifying, and burns up the dross of corruption; if rejected, it hardens, sears, pains, and destroys. The Holy Spirit came down in cloven tongues, as of fire; for the gospel also is a fiery law. The law of God written in the heart, is a certain proof of the love of God shed abroad there: we must reckon His law one of the gifts of his grace." Matthew Henry's Commentary
Here are some fire scriptures for you. God's word is SHOCKING! Fire is an incredible subject in the Bible. It just goes on and on. I didn't even include all of the fire scriptures!
Genesis 15:17 - And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
Genesis 19:24 - Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
Exodus 3:2 - And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush [was] not consumed.
Exodus 9:24 - So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
Exodus 13:21 - And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

Psalms 104:4 - Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

"Dear Jesus, Your fire is fearful. Just sayin'. These fire scriptures are piercing deep today. I want Your refining fire in my life. Not the destructive kind. As I study Your word more and more, I am completely overwhelmed at Your awesomeness. And Your terrible greatness (Psalm 63:3). I tremble and shake at Your word, O God. With tears on my face I humbly ask You to please refine me so You don't have to destroy me. Purge my lips with Your burning coal so I'm completely clean (Isaiah 6:6,7). I worship You for You are worthy to be praised. In Jesus precious name, AMEN."
