March 5: Haters gonna hate...

Our Daily Bible scriptures are: Lev. 19:9,10, 23:22, Deut. 24:19-22, 23;24-25, Lev. 25:35-38, Deut. 5:16, Lev. 19:3, ex. 21:17, Lev. 20:9, Deut. 21:18-21, Lev. 19:32, Ex. 22:22-24, Ex. 22:21, 23:9, Lev. 19:33-34, Lev. 24:22, Lev. 19:14-18, Ex. 23:4,5, Deut. 22:1-4, Deut. 5:21, Deut. 25:4, Deut. 22:6,7, Deut. 20:6-20, Deut. 23:9-14

Just be kind. Respect each other. That's all.

Be a bit sloppy when you harvest so that the poor can gather the leftovers.

If someone becomes poor, help him.

Honor your parents and you will live long.

Anyone who curses his parents must die!

A rebellious son must be stoned to death in order to purge evil from among you.

(I'm not suggesting these methods of punishment, of course, but children need to be aware of the seriousness of these sins.)

Respect the elderly! I'm in my 50's and I am starting to really appreciate this admonition.

Young people in general are a bit disrespectful to their elders these days. I am shocked at how easily young people criticize me to my face and behind my back. Maybe I was the same when I was their age.
But I don't remember ever telling my leaders how to run the church or the music department. I was so grateful to have the privilege of singing and playing an instrument in my younger years. Some young people today seem to feel I should be grateful to have their amazing talents! And when I say "young people" I mean anyone young enough to be my child. I'm not talking about the youth age section of our church. As a whole, our youth are mannerly and very respectful! I adore them. The last few years, though, I have been very surprised at the way I'm spoken to and referred to at times. I've seen some ugly frowns and eye rolling, even! And a distinct lack of support. I try to be kind and loving as Jesus would be, but at times its a bit challenging.

Moving on...

Dont take advantage of a widow or orphan!!!

Be kind to foreigners.

Respect handicapped.

Don't slander one another.

Don't hate your brother in your heart! Don't seek revenge!

Don't ignore an emergency situation, but rush to assist your neighbor.

Don't lust after your neighbor's wife, husband, or belongings!

Respect animals! Treat them kindly!

Don't be afraid of enemy armies! Be courageous! God fights for you!

Select the single minded! (If someone is afraid or side tracked, send them on their way!) Only work with the ones who are unified and unafraid!

Give your enemies an opportunity to make peace!

However:

16 But in the cities of these people which the Lord your God gives you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes.
17 But you shall utterly exterminate them, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, as the Lord your God has commanded you,
18 So that they may not teach you all the abominable practices they have carried on for their gods, and so cause you to sin against the Lord your God.
(Deut 20:16-18)

And keep your camp clean!

"Dear Jesus, Once again, thank You for Your word. Your word is so simple, even a child could understand it. It's obeying it and living it that's the hard part. I feel so entitled at times to have my bad attitude. How dare they treat me that way? Then I remember how kind and gracious You were to EVERYONE. Even when You hung dying. You said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." I desire to be just like You, Oh Lord. Please cleanse me once again, and help me to follow these simple instructions for living. I love and worship You, Jesus. AMEN."
