GOD Morning!  March 17
Boot Camp Day 12
Tell Her I’m Not Home!

Matthew 7:24-37 AMP

The Syrophoenician Woman

24 Jesus got up and left there and went to the region of Tyre [and Sidon, the coastal area of Phoenicia]. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know about it; but it was impossible for Him to be hidden [from the public]. 25 Instead, after hearing about Him, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately came and fell at His feet. 26 Now the woman was a Gentile (Greek), a Syrophoenician by nationality. And she kept pleading with Him to drive the demon out of her daughter. 27 He was saying to her, “First let the children [of Israel] be fed, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the pet dogs (non-Jews).” 28 But she replied, “Yes, Lord, but even the pet dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” 29 And He said to her, “Because of this answer [reflecting your humility and faith], go [knowing that your request is granted]; the demon has left your daughter [permanently].” 30 And returning to her home, she found the child lying on the couch [relaxed and resting], the demon having gone.
31 Soon after this Jesus left the region of Tyre, and passed through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, through the region of Decapolis [the ten Hellenistic cities]. 32 They brought to Him a man who was deaf and had difficulty speaking, and they begged Jesus to place His hand on him. 33 Jesus, taking him aside by himself, away from the crowd, put His fingers into the man’s ears, and after spitting, He touched the man’s tongue [with the saliva]; 34 and looking up to heaven, He sighed deeply and said to the man, “Ephphatha,” which [in Aramaic] means, “Be opened and released!” 35 And his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he began speaking plainly. 36 Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone; but the more He ordered them, the more widely they continued to proclaim it. 37 They were thoroughly astounded and completely overwhelmed, saying, “He has done everything well! He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak!”
“He entered a house and did not want anyone to know about it but it was impossible for Him to be hidden from the public.”
Jesus was very popular! He couldn’t go anywhere without word getting out that He was in the vicinity.
I firmly believe that if we totally give ourselves to God, He will use us to perform miracle after miracle just as Jesus did when he walked on earth in the form of a man. Some folks are already used this way. But seriously, every one of us can become a vessel for God if we so choose. But we must have a heart for God and people.
Here’s the key, we must fast and pray like never before. We must devote our lives to Him and others like never before. We must realize that our time is not our own. Our life is not our own to do with as we please. Jesus lived this way of thinking as a lifestyle. Jesus was constantly on the lookout for anyone who had a need of any kind. We must embrace this as well. We must be selfless as Jesus was.
Oh, I know this sounds weird and hard. This sounds like a way of life that a few, select, chosen people may adopt. But the fact is, we ARE the chosen ones. And seriously. Think about it. Most of us have a little selfish routine. Oh yeah, maybe we spend the first hour (or part) of the day with Jesus. Big deal. The rest of the day we are pretty distracted with the “cares of life” most of the time.
But what if? What if we actually lived every waking hour as a servant for Jesus and others? We could turn our lives into a “helping ministry.” Oh the joy that comes from giving of ourselves.
Okay I will admit it. I am talking directly to myself. I long to be transformed. I used to serve nachos every Monday night to a struggling community. It was a lot of work. Loading and unloading the bus. Cleaning up afterwards. I miss those times. Those were some of the most exciting times of my life! Looking into people’s eyes, praying with them, serving them. I feel God tugging me to start this ministry again.
Anyway, have you ever had a day when you just wanted to be alone? Maybe you were exhausted mentally, physically, and emotionally. You had nothing else left to give anyone!

I feel like Jesus was at this point when He tried to slip inside a house unnoticed.
What if He would have said, “Tell her I’m not home!” This poor lady’s daughter would have never been healed.

“Oh God, I Iong to be transformed. I long to be consumed with a burden for humanity. I long to be selfless as You were when You went around healing and delivering everyone. I know that You spent many, many hours in prayer. This is the key. The more time You and I have together, the more Holy Ghost power I will have inside of me. The more sensitive I will be to those around me. The closer to Your Servant heart I will be. Give me a heart for serving others, dear Jesus.  How I love You. How I love reading about You. Please help me to be a light today as I walk around among folks who have very real needs. Help me to look into their eyes and connect with them as You did. AMEN.”
