May 17, 2013: Catching Up.../ There's Only One Right Way!
Proverbs 9:10-12
Amplified Bible (AMP)
10 The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.
Got wisdom???
Step one: Fear God!
11 For by me [Wisdom from God] your days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased.
Fearing God leads to a long life!
12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scorn, you alone will bear it and pay the penalty.
You win when you choose wisdom! Many times, the easier path is harder later. Take the harder path and later you will be glad! Dave Ramsey puts it this way, "Live like no one else, and later, you will live like no one else!"
Proverbs 10:27
Amplified Bible (AMP)
27 The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord prolongs one’s days, but the years of the wicked shall be made short.
Scorn wisdom? Die young!
Proverbs 14:2
Amplified Bible (AMP)
2 He who walks in uprightness reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, but he who is contrary and devious in his ways despises Him.
Fearing the Lord means walking uprightly. Despising the Lord means choosing evil ways.
Proverbs 14:26-27
Amplified Bible (AMP)
26 In the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children shall always have a place of refuge.
I like this! Strong confidence comes from fearing the Lord! And you will ALWAYS have a place of refuge!
27 Reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death.
Fear the Lord - Avoid death!
Proverbs 19:23
Amplified Bible (AMP)
23 The reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it rests satisfied; he cannot be visited with [actual] evil.
Fear the Lord and avoid a visit from evil!
Proverbs 28:14
Amplified Bible (AMP)
14 Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is the man who reverently and worshipfully fears [the Lord] at all times [regardless of circumstances], but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.
BAM!
Proverbs 3:5-8
Amplified Bible (AMP)
5 Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.
8 It shall be health to your nerves and sinews, and marrow and moistening to your bones.
"Jesus, I worship You! I fear You! I desire to obey You! I used to think I was very wise, I'm ashamed to say. Thank You for opening up my eyes to my foolishness and Your wisdom! Continue to do your perfect work in me! In Your precious name I pray, AMEN."
