May 31: Please have sex with me just this once. We are married in God's eyes!
Eccl. 3:1-17, 11:7-12:8, 12:13-14, 1 Kings 11:41-43, 2 Chron. 9:29-31
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Amplified Bible (AMP)
13 All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
The Message (MSG)
12-13 But regarding anything beyond this, dear friend, go easy. There’s no end to the publishing of books, and constant study wears you out so you’re no good for anything else. The last and final word is this: Fear God. Do what he tells you.
14 And that’s it. Eventually God will bring everything that we do out into the open and judge it according to its hidden intent, whether it’s good or evil.
Just do the right thing. Doing the right thing is sometimes boring and not appealing at all to the flesh. But the end result is very exciting. God brings EVERYTHING we do out into the open and Wow!, the feeling is indescribable when you know in your heart you did the right thing. Especially when it was really HARD to do the right thing. There are people out there who will try to dig up dirt on you. And it's fun and exciting when they can't find a thing! Those same people will PRESSURE you to do the WRONG thing. And then they will laugh in your face when your evil deeds are found out. Not kidding about this.
There's nothing like knowing your motives and agendas were pure. I've been on both sides of the fence and I know from personal experience what I'm talking about.
I've had the sinking feeling when I knew I was found out, and I've had the exhilarating rush when I knew I did the right thing with a totally pure heart.
I knew of a young lady who's fiance (who was a preacher) pressured her to have sex with him. He fed her a truck load of lies about why this was her duty BEFORE they were married. He said she was torturing him. He said he felt unbelievable physical pain. She gave in. All of her friends and family were thrilled about the fact that she was marrying a minister. They had no idea what was going on. I lost contact with her years ago, but my heart still hurts for her. I'm sure she still feels unbelievable guilt about caving in to satan's lies.
It's soooooo simple. Fear God. Do what He tells you. That's it!
"Dear God I know there's someone out there today who's experiencing excruciating pressure to do the wrong thing. Please let my words reach deep in their heart, Lord. Please let my words give them courage to simply do the right thing. They may lose friends. They may lose family support. They may even lose a fiance. NOTHING can take the place of simply fearing You, Lord, and keeping Your commandments. You know our hearts. You know our motives. Keep our hearts and motives pure, O God. Thank You ahead of time for what You are doing in each of these painful situations. In Jesus precious name I pray, AMEN."
