GOD Morning! Faith
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” Hebrews 11:1-19-20
"For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
The definition of faith: confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Faith really doesn’t make any sense.
Noah. Not one person, other than his immediate family, believed him. Yet he kept pounding away on that ark.
Abraham was as good as dead. By faith he obeyed God, and became the father of the Jewish nation.
Abraham’s wife, Sarah. Past childbearing age. At the age of ninety, she gave birth to her first and only child.
And David. He was only one man, being chased by an entire army. He was as good as dead. He became the King of Israel.
And then there’s Joseph. God gave him a dream that everyone would be bowing down before him and he wound up in prison, accused of raping his bosses wife.
What about Job? Sitting there scraping his sores and dying.
What are you dealing with right now? Are you in a fog of confusion? Are your emotions all over the place? Do you feel like a pendulum? Swinging waaaaay to one side, and then waaaaay back to the other side again?
Simply park yourself in God’s presence. How? Throughout the day, just repeat, over and over, “Jesus, I submit myself to You. Cover me in Your blood of protection. I give You my all over the place thoughts. I am Yours and You are mine. You loved me to death. I receive Your unconditional love. You are my hiding place. You are going to get me through this. In Jesus Name I pray, AMEN.”
If you’re with people, just say it in your head. Or go to the bathroom and whisper it.
Yesterday, I cried out to God in my car. It really helps to yell out to God. Whether it’s worship or desperate cries.
I have a crackling fireplace youtube going on my laptop right now. This is my God time. I am listening to His voice. Right now He is speaking to me through His word.
While I was making my pour over coffee this morning, He told me exactly what I need to do. My flesh is yelling, “No!” But I will say yes to Him. He said yes to the cross, where He suffered, bled and died for my salvation.
“Thank You Jesus. Wow. What a timely chapter for me to read this morning. I just read this chapter to my dad a few days ago. Your word never fails. We humans are all over the place, but Your word is sure. Your presence is sure. Your love is sure. You are my Rock. My hiding place. How I love You. AMEN.”
