July 26 / Every Day God: Jealous Love!
Song of Solomon 2:3-13
Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 Like an apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved [shepherd] among the sons [cried the girl]! Under his shadow I delighted to sit, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love [for love waved as a protecting and comforting banner over my head when I was near him].
5 Sustain me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am sick with love.
6 [I can feel] his left hand under my head and his right hand embraces me!
7 [He said] I charge you, O you daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or by the hinds of the field [which are free to follow their own instincts] that you not try to stir up or awaken [my] love until it pleases.
8 [Vividly she pictured it] The voice of my beloved [shepherd]! Behold, he comes, leaping upon the mountains, bounding over the hills.
9 My beloved is like a gazelle or a young hart. Behold, he stands behind the wall of our house, he looks in through the windows, he glances through the lattice.
10 My beloved speaks and says to me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
11 For, behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone.
12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing [of birds] has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree puts forth and ripens her green figs, and the vines are in blossom and give forth their fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.
As I was praying in the back corner of the sanctuary that day, I was surrounded by an intense presence of the Almighty God. It came in waves. I sobbed and cried for the sheer joy of it all. His presence was Heaven to me.
These words came to me that day.

One day I won't ever have to leave His presence. Sin will be no more. Sickness will be no more. The cares of this life will be no more. Only His presence.
I watched an amazing sermon last week by Dr. Gerald Jeffers entitled "Condemnation Interferes With Intimacy." Dr. Jeffers described the love relationship between Christ and the church. If we only understood just a teeny bit about His love for us, we wouldn't spend another second grieving about unrequited love. Jesus is the ONLY LOVER we need to worry about. When ALL earthly love fails, He shows up. He loves us no matter what!!!
Maybe you've been beating yourself up for "wrecking" a relationship you thought you couldn't live without. No, Sweetie, you didn't mess anything up. God was most likely rescuing you from a horrible fate! Did you know God orders our steps even when we aren't necessarily following Him? Yup, He does! He's had his eye on you for a long time! Since before you were even born, in fact.

5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you;
You are precious in His eyes. So just cling to Him! Focus o Him! He knows the desires of your heart! He will fulfill them in due season! He loves you with a fierce, jealous love!

6 Set me like a seal upon your heart, like a seal upon your arm; for love is as strong as death, jealousy is as hard and cruel as Sheol (the place of the dead). Its flashes are flashes of fire, a most vehement flame [the very flame of the Lord]!
He wants your WHOLE heart.
