1 Chronicles 5:23-26

23 And the people of the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land; their settlements spread from Bashan to Baal-hermon, Senir, and Mount Hermon.

24 And these were the heads of their fathers’ houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of strength of mind and spirit [enabling them to encounter danger with firmness and personal bravery], famous men, and heads of the houses of their fathers.

25 They transgressed against the God of their fathers and played the harlot [by unfaithfulness to their own God and running] after the gods of the native peoples, whom God had destroyed before them.

26 So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, [that is,] the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river Gozan, to this day.

2 Kings 17:1-2

17 In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea son of Elah began his nine-year reign in Samaria over Israel.

2 He did evil in the sight of the Lord, but not as Israel’s kings before him did.

2 Kings 16:1-4

16 In the seventeenth year of Pekah son of Remaliah, Ahaz son of Jotham king of Judah became king.

2 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began his sixteen-year reign in Jerusalem. He did not do right in the sight of the Lord his God, like David his [forefather].

3 But he walked in the ways of Israel’s kings, yes, and made his son pass through the fire [and offered him as a sacrifice], in accord with the abominable [idolatrous] practices of the [heathen] nations whom the Lord drove out before the Israelites.

4 He sacrificed and burned incense in the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.

All my life I've heard "the God of the Old Testament was harsh." And I partly believed it. After actually studying all the TRASHY, CORRUPT things committed by the PEOPLE in the Old Testament, I want to make it plain that I no longer will nod my head in agreement with that comment any longer. 

These evil leaders and kings knew all about the exploits of God's mighty warriors and kings. These evil leaders and kings knew all about the exploits of our mighty God. These evil leaders and kings knew all about what happens when nations turn against God. 

And yet they CHOSE, ON PURPOSE, to turn completely AGAINST the God of their forefathers. 

Ahaz made his son pass through the fire and sacrificed him? His own son? This man was taken over by evil. 

When someone does evil, ON PURPOSE, when they KNOW TRUTH, their end is much worse. When someone PRETENDS to be ignorant of truth, but in reality they KNOW, I fear for that person.

Romans 1:24-28

24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their [own] hearts to sexual impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves [abandoning them to the degrading power of sin],

25 Because they exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, Who is blessed forever! Amen (so be it).

26 For this reason God gave them over and abandoned them to vile affections and degrading passions. For their women exchanged their natural function for an unnatural and abnormal one,

27 And the men also turned from natural relations with women and were set ablaze (burning out, consumed) with lust for one another—men committing shameful acts with men and suffering in their own [a]bodies and personalities the inevitable consequences and penalty of their wrong-doing andgoing astray, which was [their] fitting retribution.

28 And so, since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or approve of Him or consider Him worth the knowing, God gave them over to a base and condemned mind to do things not proper or decent but loathsome,

John 3:19

19 The [basis of the] judgment (indictment, the test by which men are judged, the ground for the sentence) lies in this: the Light has come into the world, and people have loved the darkness rather than and more than the Light, for their works (deeds) were evil.

John 8:44

44 You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false.

Isaiah 1:5-6

5 Why should you be stricken and punished any more [since it brings no correction]? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, and the whole heart is faint (feeble, sick, and nauseated).

6 From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness or health in [the nation’s body]—but wounds and bruises and fresh and bleeding stripes; they have not been pressed out and closed up or bound up or softened with oil. [No one has troubled to seek a remedy.]

Titus 1:15-16

15 To the pure [in heart and conscience] all things are pure, but to the defiled and corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure; their very minds and consciences are defiled and polluted.

16 They profess to know God [to recognize, perceive, and be acquainted with Him], but deny anddisown and renounce Him by what they do; they are detestable and loathsome, unbelieving and disobedient and disloyal and rebellious, and [they are] unfit and worthless for good work (deed or enterprise) of any kind.

Matthew 3:12

12 His winnowing fan (shovel, fork) is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear out and clean His threshing floor and gather and store His wheat in His barn, but the chaff He will burn up with fire that cannot be put out.

Revelation 21:8

8 But as for the cowards and the ignoble and the contemptible and the cravenly lacking in courage and the cowardly submissive, and as for the unbelieving and faithless, and as for the depraved and defiled with abominations, and as for murderers and the lewd and adulterous and the practicers of magic arts and the idolaters (those who give supreme devotion to anyone or anything other than God) and all liars (those who knowingly convey untruth by word or deed)—[all of these shall have] their part in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.

What can I possibly add to God's Word? Nothing. 

"Dear God I am repenting for anyone out there who KNOWS truth and yet continues to slap You in the face with their blatant, unashamed, obvious sin. Someone who has parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, an aunt or uncle - ANYONE in their family lineage who has lived for You and stood for truth. And yet this person chooses idolatry. Worshiping a sinful lifestyle. Bowing down to an evil lifestyle. Like many of the Old Testament kings, this person may not be ALL bad. But yet they are making small, seemingly unimportant CHOICES! Choices that will cause You to turn them over to a reprobate mind. And after that, Your word says they will be cast into everlasting fire. I repent for this person. Please continue to tug in their heart, God. Do whatever it takes. I pray they will humbly fall down and repent and turn around. Thank You Jesus for Your infinite love and patience. You are all powerful and can change the hardest of hearts. Oh how I love You, Jesus. AMEN."
