June 27: Don't take yourself too seriously. Take GOD seriously!

Micah chapters 6 and 7

Micah 6:6-8

The Message (MSG)
6-7 How can I stand up before God
and show proper respect to the high God?
Should I bring an armload of offerings
    topped off with yearling calves?
Would God be impressed with thousands of rams,
with buckets and barrels of olive oil?
Would he be moved if I sacrificed my firstborn child,
my precious baby, to cancel my sin?
But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
    take God seriously.

Micah 6:6-8

Amplified Bible (AMP)
With what shall I come before the Lord and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?
Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God?
Its so simple. Be fair. Be compassionate. Be loyal. Be humble. Walk with God.
"Dear God, help me to really understand the depth of the simplicity of what You expect from me. Being a good person is the hard choice, but once the choice is made, all the decisions are easy ones. If it (anything placed in my path) involves unfairness, lack of compassion, disunity, disloyalty, pride, walking out of step with You, then the decision is NO! Thank You for making Your word so simple even a child can understand it. I want to intertwine myself with You, God. I want to walk worthy of Your calling on my life. You are so amazing! I worship You with my WHOLE heart. In Your precious name, Jesus, I pray this, AMEN."
