April 29, 2013: Who is this King of Glory?

Psalm 24

A Psalm of David.

The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness of it, the world and they who dwell in it.
For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the currents and the rivers.
Who shall go up into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is the generation [description] of those who seek Him [who inquire of and for Him and of necessity require Him], who seek Your face, [O God of] Jacob. Selah [pause, and think of that]!
Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you age-abiding doors, that the King of glory may come in.
Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O you gates; yes, lift them up, you age-abiding doors, that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is [He then] this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory.Selah [pause, and think of that]!

I desire to go up into this holy mountain.

Psalm 51:10

Amplified Bible (AMP)
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.

Matthew 5:8

Amplified Bible (AMP)
Blessed (happy, enviably fortunate, and spiritually prosperous—possessing the happiness produced by the experience of God’s favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions) are the pure in heart, for they shall see God!

Philippians 2:14-16

Amplified Bible (AMP)
14 Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [[a]against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves],
15 That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent anduncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world,
16 Holding out [to it] and offering [to all men] the Word of Life, so that in the day of Christ I may have something of which exultantly to rejoice and glory in that I did not run my race in vain or spend my labor to no purpose.

1 Timothy 1:5

Amplified Bible (AMP)
Whereas the object and purpose of our instruction and charge is love, which springs from a pure heart and a good (clear) conscience and sincere (unfeigned) faith.
"God cleanse my hands and my heart that I may know You. I seek Your face, Oh God!  I want to abide in You. I want to go up to that holy mountain and make You my home. You are high and lifted up! You are the King of Glory! You are the Lord Strong and Mighty! You are to be worshipped now and forevermore! I make my home in You! AMEN!"
