GOD Morning! November 4
Lighthouse
Hebrews 1
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past
unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath
appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his
person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by
himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance
obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son,
this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he
shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he
saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his
ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever:
a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God,
even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the
earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as
doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed:
but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right
hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for
them who shall be heirs of salvation?
A beautiful old song is coming to my mind this morning as I read this scripture passage.
The
first time I went with my parents to hear “The Happy Goodman Family,” I clearly remember being
swallowed up by the giant theater seat. I had to reach up high to try to place
my arms on the arm rests. =) I was so excited! I felt like I was in heaven!
I
thank God for the Lighthouse. I owe my
life to Him!
The Lighthouse
by Rusty Goodman
There's a lighthouse on the hillside
that overlooks life's sea.
When I'm tossed it sends out a light that I might see.
And the light that shines in darkness now will safely lead me home,
If it wasn't for the lighthouse, my ship would sail no more.
When I'm tossed it sends out a light that I might see.
And the light that shines in darkness now will safely lead me home,
If it wasn't for the lighthouse, my ship would sail no more.
Everybody that lives around us, they
say tear that old lighthouse down,
The big ships don't sail this way anymore, ain't no use in it standing round.
But then my mind goes back to that stormy night, when just in time I saw the light
With the light from that old lighthouse, that stands there on the hill.
The big ships don't sail this way anymore, ain't no use in it standing round.
But then my mind goes back to that stormy night, when just in time I saw the light
With the light from that old lighthouse, that stands there on the hill.
And I thank God for The Lighthouse,
I owe my life to Him.
Jesus is The Lighthouse and from the rocks of sin,
He has shown the light around me, that I might clearly see.
If it wasn't for The Lighthouse, Where would this ship be?
Jesus is The Lighthouse and from the rocks of sin,
He has shown the light around me, that I might clearly see.
If it wasn't for The Lighthouse, Where would this ship be?
“Thank You, Jesus! You are the Lighthouse, the brightness of glory!
The express image of God! You hold all things by Your power! You purged my
sins! Your throne is forever and ever, a sceptre of righteousness! You laid the
foundation of the earth! The heavens are the works of Your hands! And yet You
allow me to approach Your throne and you listen to me and chat with me. Little
old me. I am so insignificant. You stepped down from Your throne and You were beaten beyond recognition, dying on the Cross for
my sins. How I love You! How I adore You! You are the very air that I breathe. Jesus, my Lighthouse. AMEN.”
