February 25, Are you desperate?, Lev. 12:1-8, 14:1-32, 15:13-15, 15:28-30, Num. 19:1-22,
"Bodily discharges and emissions are set forth as forms of uncleaness, even if they issue involuntarily. They may or may not have a direct relation to moral impurity, though many deseases are in fact the result of sin. Of more importance is any perceived uncleanness and the need for purity of the body as well as of the soul." (The Daily Bible in Chronological Order commentary)
Leviticus 15:28-30
Amplified Bible (AMP)
28 But if she is cleansed of her discharge, then she shall wait seven days, and after that she shall be clean.
29 And on the eighth day she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the door of the Tent of Meeting;
30 He shall offer one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering; and he shall make atonement for her before the Lord for her unclean discharge.
As I read this passage, I am reminded of the woman with the issue of blood.
Luke 8:43-48
Amplified Bible (AMP)
43 And a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years and had spent all her living upon physicians, and could not be healed by anyone,
44 Came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment, and immediately her flow of blood ceased.
45 And Jesus said, Who is it who touched Me? When all were denying it, Peter and those who were with him said, Master, the multitudes surround You and press You on every side!
46 But Jesus said, Someone did touch Me; for I perceived that [healing] power has gone forth from Me.
47 And when the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came up trembling, and, falling down before Him, she declared in the presence of all the people for what reason she had touched Him and how she had been instantly cured.
48 And He said to her, Daughter, your faith (your confidence and trust in Me) has made you well! Go (enter) into peace (untroubled, undisturbed well-being).
This woman was declared unclean for 12 years and unable to enter the Temple and worship. She was desperate. And because of her desperation, she was immediately healed.
Many years ago, I was struggling with depression. I went to the altar and Pastor Grant prayed for me. As I stood worshiping among many others at the altar, I felt Jesus' eyes directly on me! It was as if I was this woman in the Bible. All I could do was cry and whisper "My Jesus, my Jesus." I felt His sweet presence for many days after, cleansing and healing me.
What are you facing right now, in this moment? Just touch the hem of Jesus' garment and be made whole. Are you desperate? Jesus is very near to those who are desperate.
Psalm 34:18
Amplified Bible (AMP)
18 The Lord is close to those who are of a broken heart and saves such as are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent.
"Dear Jesus, I am desperate this morning. I have absolutely no hope. I have tried everything else to ease the pain in my soul. I have spent all my money trying to heal my soul. I am coming to You through the crowd right now, Jesus. The jeering crowd of people telling me it's hopeless. The eye rolling crowd of so called friends who believe I will always be this way. But You believe in me, Jesus! You see who I CAN be, if I put my total trust in You and cling to You. You are truly my ONLY HOPE, Jesus. I need You now! Heal and restore me! I ask this in Your precious name. You are my Healer, Jesus. Thank You! Praise You! You are Worthy of my highest praise! AMEN."
This really speaks to me today about the physical junk I have been dealing with. Thank you!!! Thank You Jesus, that we have hope and healing!!!
